Reason Why You Should Eat Egg Before You Sleep

An egg is the most loved and devoured food items. It is packed with several healthy nutrients and is one of the best sources of complete protein. It is versatile, easy to cook and not very expensive. All these things make it easy for people to add it to their daily food menu. You probably only think of them as a breakfast food, but it turns out that eating eggs right before bed could actually have a few benefits for your body. But like every other thing, there is a good and a bad time to eat 

Most people think that eat eggs at night will make you release a lot of farts in your sleep or when you wake up. But that’s a misconception. The reason why some people release a lot of farts after eating eggs is because, they are egg intolerance, meaning that their body is not able to fully break down certain components of the egg.

Studies confirm that; eating eggs, whether fried or boiled, can help cause drowsiness and aid sleep because egg contains Tryptophan (an amino acid) which triggers the production of melatonin in your body, leading to increased feelings of tiredness. The Tryptophan in eggs allows your body to naturally become more susceptible to sleep, resulting in a more restful night.






Views on having an egg at night are divided. As per some research, eggs can be a healthy post-dinner snacking option, while as per others they can lead to sleeplessness. For people with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), it’s possible that eggs may interrupt sleep. However, we all have different systems. When it comes to eating an egg at night, you will have to check what exactly suits you. If you do not face any problem then you can have boiled or poached egg at night, else it is better to avoid it at night.
